High school can be a difficult balancing act. You may be attempting to balance your studies, extracurricular activities, or a part-time job, as well as spending more time with your pals. Know that you can do it wherever you are this spring! Whether you're taking your first or last AP Exam, here are some tried-and-true strategies for success and confidence now and in the future:

  1. Maintain your dedication: When you commit to anything, you've created a path for yourself to follow, which typically leads to drive for success. Set your sights on the prize and pursue it.
  1. Self-talk that is constructive: When doing something new, it's tempting to let your nerves get the best of you. Don't be your own worst critic. Write your accomplishments on a sticky note or on a mirror.
  1. Move your body: Whether you’re an athlete or you enjoy getting outdoors or walking your dog, moving your body will pay off. It’ll boost your endorphins and give you a break, so you’ll feel refreshed when you return to your work and responsibilities.
  1. Get enough rest: While you think studying all night will make you smarter, you may be making it harder on yourself. Take time for rest and prioritize getting a full night’s sleep.
  1. Ask for help: Just because you don’t have the answer doesn’t mean you aren’t resourceful enough to find it. The most successful people know when to ask for help—and take it when it’s given.
  1. Utilize resources available to you: preparation is key.
  1. Attend AP Daily: Live Review Sessions
  1. View upcoming assignments and track your progress in AP Classroom
  1. Connect with your peers and support each other along the way. You’re all in similar classes, so set up study groups, in-person or virtual, to study for your AP Exam, and check out these 50 ways students stay focused from other AP students.
